How is leave balance calculated? +
A typical formula is: accrued leave + carryover − used leave. Some policies include caps,
rounding rules, and cutoffs (e.g., carryover expires after a date).
What is carryover cap in leave policies? +
A carryover cap limits how many unused days you can bring into the new year. Example: carryover 12 days, cap 10 → only 10 carryover days apply.
What is front-loaded accrual? +
Front-loaded means your full annual entitlement is available at the start of the leave year. Many companies still track “earned” vs “used” for policy compliance.
